IT support for Hong Kong’s financial firms — brokers, asset managers and emerging hedge funds
Financial firms in Hong Kong run on IT that has to be secure, resilient and audit-ready from day one — because the SFC, your prime broker and your investors will all check it.
Built for regulated scrutiny
Secure, resilient, audit-ready IT for brokers, single- and multi-family offices and emerging hedge funds — with the cybersecurity, business continuity and documentation the SFC, prime brokers and investors all check.
ISO 27001 & ISO 20000 certified
Independently certified to ISO/IEC 27001 (information security) and ISO/IEC 20000 (service management) — the standards institutional investors and prime brokers specifically look for in operational due diligence.
On the ground since 2001
British-owned and Hong Kong-based for over two decades, with infrastructure delivered for global financial services firms and international law firms — and cross-border support into Mainland China and Singapore.
Private equity & professional firms
Running a PE firm? We provide dedicated IT and M&A due diligence for private equity — including independent technology due diligence on the companies you’re buying — and the same confidentiality-first IT support for law firms in Hong Kong.

Which SFC rules apply to your firm, and where does it stand?
Pick your licence types (Type 1, 4, 9…) in the SFC Licence Navigator to see the exact IT and cybersecurity obligations for your combination. Then take the Security Controls Audit to measure the firm against the 24 security controls the SFC expects, in about ten minutes. Each gives you a report to keep as a PDF or send to us.
What financial firms need from IT
Whatever the licence type, regulated financial firms in Hong Kong share a core set of IT requirements a general IT provider rarely covers properly.
SFC-aware cybersecurity
Security mapped to the SFC’s expectations for licensed corporations — MFA, encryption, monitoring and two-factor for internet trading — backed by our ISO 27001 certification. See cybersecurity and our guide to SFC cybersecurity requirements — or pick your licence types in the interactive SFC Licence Navigator to see exactly which rules apply to your firm.
Business continuity & resilience
Tested backup, failover and a documented business-continuity plan so trading, communications and records survive an outage — a standing regulatory expectation, not an optional extra.
Records & communications retention
Capture and retention of order-related communications and records, configured to meet SFC record-keeping obligations and to be produced quickly on request.
Market data & trading platforms
Reliable setup and support for Bloomberg, Refinitiv and order and execution management systems, plus the low-latency, high-availability connectivity the front office depends on.
Secure remote & multi-site access
Conditional access, VPN and zero-trust so partners and staff connect securely from the office, home or overseas without widening your attack surface.
Audit & due-diligence readiness
Documented controls, asset registers and policies that let you answer a prime-broker or investor DDQ — or an SFC review — without scrambling. To see where you stand today, take the free Security Controls Audit.
Brokers
SFC-licensed brokers live and die by uptime and record-keeping. We design and run trading-floor infrastructure with the resilience the front office needs — redundant connectivity, high-availability networks and managed market-data feeds — alongside the communications recording and retention that order-handling demands. Proactive monitoring and a fast, local helpdesk mean issues are caught and resolved before they affect execution.
Family offices
Family offices run on discretion: a small team managing significant, multi-jurisdiction wealth with no in-house IT, where confidentiality, security and reliability matter more than scale. It’s a distinct enough discipline that we’ve built a dedicated page for it — see family office IT support in Hong Kong for how we work with single- and multi-family offices, from securing an established office to standing up a brand-new one.
Startup and emerging hedge funds
Launching a fund means standing up institutional-grade IT fast, and getting it past prime-broker and investor operational due diligence before you can trade. We set up new SFC-licensed managers from scratch, right-sized for a founding team of two or twenty, so the setup looks institutional to allocators without an institutional budget and grows as your AUM does.
Three parties look at your IT before the first trade: your prime broker and fund administrator as they onboard you, allocators running operational due diligence, and the SFC, which expects every licensed corporation to have a named Manager-In-Charge of Information Technology and controls that stand up to its cybersecurity circulars.
A hardened Microsoft 365
Your tenant configured to Microsoft and CIS security baselines from the start: sign-in with an authenticator app rather than SMS codes, conditional access, legacy sign-in switched off, audit logging on, and an independent backup held outside Microsoft with a tested restore. See Microsoft 365 setup.
Managed devices and access
Encrypted, centrally managed laptops and phones that can be wiped remotely. Separate administrator accounts, least-privilege access, and an access register updated at every joiner and leaver.
Trading and connectivity
Secure, resilient connections to your prime broker, fund administrator, order and execution management system and market data, with Bloomberg or Refinitiv set up and supported.
Fraud and impersonation controls
Email authentication (SPF, DKIM and DMARC), anti-phishing, and a call-back and two-person rule for new payees, bank-detail changes and large transfers. The SFC’s June 2026 circular warns that AI makes deepfake impersonation and phishing easier to run, and names maker-checker on high-impact actions as a control.
A due-diligence evidence pack
Policies written for your firm rather than downloaded: information security, incident response including how you notify the SFC, business continuity with cyber scenarios, third-party management and AI use. Plus asset and access registers and a record of your restore tests, so the questionnaire is answered with evidence, not promises.
An ISO-certified provider
Allocators ask who runs your IT and how that provider is audited. PTS is independently certified to ISO/IEC 27001 (information security) and ISO/IEC 20000 (IT service management), so the answer is an auditor’s certificate rather than an assurance. It covers how we run your IT, not your firm as a whole, and your questionnaire should say exactly that.
If you later distribute your funds through your own online platform, the SFC’s internet-trading rules start to apply, including phishing-resistant client login by 8 July 2027. For the regulatory detail, see our guide to SFC cybersecurity requirements for fund managers, or map your licence types in the SFC Licence Navigator. Your compliance adviser owns the regulatory opinion; we make the systems stand up to it.
SFC and due-diligence readiness
The common thread across brokers, family offices and funds is scrutiny. The SFC expects licensed corporations to manage cybersecurity, keep proper records and maintain a tested business-continuity plan. Separately, prime brokers and institutional investors run operational due diligence in which IT and information security are now a major section — and a weak or undocumented setup costs allocations.
Our ISO/IEC 27001 certification, written policies, asset and access registers, and tested recovery give you defensible answers to all of it. We also map to Hong Kong’s PDPO and, for firms with mainland operations, China’s PIPL. For day-to-day protection see cybersecurity and Microsoft 365 security.
Launching or reviewing a fund's IT?
Practical, costed proposal · No obligation
Why PTS for financial firms
ISO 27001-certified, vendor-neutral and on the ground in Hong Kong since 2001, PTS combines the security credentials regulated firms need with the responsiveness of a local partner — and the cross-border reach to support operations into Mainland China and Singapore. See our financial services and law firm case studies, or read how we frame a managed IT service.
Our pricing approach
We scope each engagement to your licence type, headcount and risk, then provide a clear, costed monthly proposal — no fixed packages, no long lock-in. A new fund launch and an established broker need very different things, and we price accordingly.
