One AV Standard Across Thirteen Cities for a Global Risk Advisory Firm

The Challenge

A global risk advisory and professional services firm set out to refresh its office portfolio across Asia Pacific, a rolling programme of fit-outs and relocations spanning more than thirteen offices from Adelaide to Dalian. Each project had its own building, its own programme and its own local integrator market, but the firm wanted one consistent workplace experience: a consultant in Kuala Lumpur should be able to walk into a meeting room in Taipei and start a call without a second thought.

Running each office as a one-off design would have meant reinventing the wheel thirteen times, with the inconsistency, cost and support burden that brings. The firm needed a single design authority that could hold a standard across the whole region while still adapting to each site.

Our Approach

PTS was appointed AV and IT design consultant across the portfolio, working alongside the firm’s appointed project manager, and has held the role since 2021.

We began by defining a portfolio standard: a kit of room types, from huddle rooms to boardrooms and town hall spaces, each with a defined AV specification, user experience and cabling requirement. Every new office is then designed by selecting and adapting from that kit, rather than starting from a blank page. The standard governs how rooms look, how they sound and, most importantly, how they are used, so the meeting experience is identical in every city.

On each project, PTS delivers the site-specific design, tenders it to local integrators, reviews submittals, and inspects and witnesses the installation through to sign-off. Because the design authority sits with us rather than with any single integrator, quality stays consistent even as the delivery partners change from country to country.

The Outcome

More than thirteen offices and over 200,000 sq ft delivered to one standard, with the programme still running. New sites mobilise faster because the design foundation already exists, procurement is sharper because integrators price against a proven specification, and the firm’s IT team supports one familiar room estate rather than thirteen bespoke ones.

Four years on, the engagement continues, the strongest endorsement a design consultant can earn.
