Matt Barnes

Matt Barnes is a principal consultant and project manager with more than 34 years in the industry — 30 of them in Hong Kong and across Asia. He specialises in structured cabling and low-voltage (ELV) technology, audiovisual systems, server-room infrastructure and physical security, and at PTS he leads the delivery of high-profile, highly technical infrastructure projects — from concept design and procurement through program management to on-time, on-budget handover. Having worked every side of the industry, Matt pairs deep technical knowledge with the communication skills and cultural adaptability to lead stakeholders, vendors and on-site teams across complex, multi-country programmes.

Selected client experience

• A global asset management firm (Hong Kong) — office relocation and a strategic technology concept design spanning voice, IT, trading-desk ergonomics, AV and meeting-room facilities, coordinated with the corporate-services master programme and handed off cleanly with the client's US IT teams.
• A global financial data and media company (Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing) — IT infrastructure upgrades covering structured cabling and AV, with server-room design across cooling, power, UPS loads and room layout, providing specialist consultancy and site supervision on behalf of IT stakeholders.
• A major UK retailer (Hong Kong, China, India, Bangladesh) — new office fit-outs for 400+ users as part of a regional IT infrastructure programme, from high- and low-level design and detailed phased migration planning through to on-site coordination of vendors, contractors and internal workstreams.
